FAQs

HOW DO I GET MY TICKET?

On the day of the festival, you just need your confirmation email which will have been sent to the email address you signed up with. This is your proof of purchase. There’s no need for any additional ticket download or barcode. To make the festival as eco-friendly as possible, we are not sending physical tickets out in the post. If you haven’t received an email, check your spam/junk folder—or get in touch and we’ll resend it.

Our box office team will have a list of all ticket holders on the door so you simply need to provide the name that the ticket was booked under, and the first line of your billing address to gain entry to the festival.

WHY DOES MY TICKET SAY IT IS PENDING?

Don’t worry—your ticket is confirmed! The “pending” status is just a default setting on our website. If you’ve received an email confirmation, your ticket is secured.Your email confirmation is your ticket. Just bring it along (on your phone or printed) to gain entry to the festival.

Check out our advice on parking and recommended cafes, restaurants, and hotels here.

Food is not included. We encourage you to explore the local cafes and restaurants in Currumbin. We’ve shared some of our favourites here. You are welcome to enter and exit the venue anytime.

We are busy plotting the program for now and will share the full schedule approximately one month before the festival. Make sure you are following the festival on social media and subscribed to our newsletter to keep updated on the latest announcements.

Are THERE TICKETS AVAILABLE TO ATTEND DIGITAL SESSIONS IF I CAN’T MAKE THE Festival this year?

This year the only place you'll experience our workshops and author sessions are in person! Though we do love the idea of a digital festival and will explore this in future years.

Can I bring my own books TO get signed?

Yes absolutely! Our authors will be available after their sessions to sign books at Bookface’s pop-up bookshop at the venue and you are welcome to bring your own books. Please limit it to 2 per author to ensure everyone gets a chance to meet their favourite authors. Please also be aware that our authors will not be able to sign merchandise or anything else other than their own books.

If you forget to bring your own books, rest assured you will be able to purchase books via Bookface throughout the weekend.

Can I get a free press ticket?

As we are a small, volunteer run festival and this is our first year, we are not giving away free tickets to press. Ticket sale revenue and any sponsorship we secure in addition to the City of Gold Coast funding goes toward ensuring fair payment to our authors, moderators and workshop hosts, and covering the cost of their festival visit. We also do everything we can to keep our ticket price as low and reasonably priced as possible.

If you are from a brand or media outlet, and would like to partner with us or feature the festival, then please do get in touch with us at currumbincrimefest@gmail.com.

Will there be food & DRINKS on site?

The venue is located in the heart of Currumbin right above Kinship Cafe and close to several cafes and restaurants. Check out our recommended places to eat here.

We’re a sustainable event — please bring your own reusable coffee cup and water bottle.
